ST. CHARLES—State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) will be hosting a free property tax seminar for residents in his 65th legislative district. It will be held on July 23rd at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive (Building E, Room E100.01), from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The event will help area residents understand the property tax assessment process and learn how to appeal tax assessments.
The seminar will feature a presentation by Kane County Tax Assessor, Mark Armstrong, who will explain how taxes are assessed and how property owners can seek an appeal.
“If you believe your property tax bill is too high, this is an event for you,” said Rep. Ugaste. “It will be informative for residents who are concerned about their tax bill and want to know how assessments are determined. It will also explain the appeal process, so those who believe their assessment is unfair can be armed with all the information they need to correctly navigate the appeal process. I would encourage all area residents to attend to learn more!”
If you have questions about the event, contact Rep. Ugaste’s District Office at 630-797-5530.
Dan Ugaste is a first term State Representative for the 65th District, and represents portions of northwestern Kane and southern McHenry Counties, which includes Elgin, South Elgin, St. Charles, Hampshire, Huntley, Pingree Grove, Batavia and Geneva.
