Keicher, Ugaste Offering Property Tax Webinar for Residents

KANE COUNTY—State Representatives Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) and Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) are offering a property tax webinar for local residents to learn more about the property tax assessment process and get their questions answered.

The webinar will be held on August 25th from 6:00—7:30pm. Residents can access the webinar through the following link: https://hrs-ilga-gov.zoom.us/j/95621653181.

The event will feature a presentation from Mark Armstrong, Kane County Supervisor of Assessments, to help local residents understand the tax assessment process and what homeowners need to know.

“The property tax process can be confusing and this seminar will provide a greater understanding of how properties are assessed and also give residents the right tools to learn how to appeal your taxes should you believe them to be unfair,” said Rep. Ugaste.

Both Representatives have been advocates for property tax reform in the legislature and have previously offered property tax seminars to residents in their respective districts.  This webinar is an additional tool residents can utilize ahead of the property tax bill due date, which for Kane County residents is September 1st.

Representative Keicher is encouraging local residents to not only tune into the webinar but also have their property tax bills in hand.

“Property taxes in Illinois are the second highest in the nation and a top issue for local residents I speak to on a daily basis,” said Rep. Keicher.  “I would encourage residents to have their property tax bills available to reference throughout this informational webinar and not to hesitate to ask questions.”

The webinar will include time for a question and answer portion. With questions about the upcoming webinar, residents can contact Representative Keicher at (815) 748-3494 or Representative Ugaste at (630) 797-5530.
