Ugaste Named to Five House Committees

GENEVA—State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) was recently appointed to five House committees, which he will serve on for the 102nd General Assembly.

These committees are tasked with reviewing countless pieces of legislation to determine which bills move forward through the legislative process. For his second term serving the 65th District, Representative Ugaste’s appointments include: Energy & Environment, Judiciary Civil, Labor & Commerce, Police & Fire, and Transportation: Regulation, Roads & Bridges.

Rep. Ugaste is ready to get to work vetting the hundreds of bills that have already been filed for the 102nd General Assembly.  “My committee assignments cover a wide array of essential areas-from first responders to transportation issues, which will lay the ground work for doing the important work on behalf of residents, businesses and families here in Illinois,” he said. “As we start this new term and begin the legislative process, we have plenty of work to be done to make a difference for the larger state of Illinois and local communities like the 65th District.”

As a workers compensation attorney, Ugaste looks forward to returning to the Labor and Commerce Committee to extend his expertise.  “With my background, I have a unique perspective that can help contribute to positive change for Illinois employers and employees, starting with the work on this committee.  Labor and commerce are essential backbones to the success of our economy, and on the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no shortage of important issues we will need to accomplish.”

Due to a significant change in the House Rules for the 102nd General Assembly, House Committees will begin to meet virtually in the coming weeks. Updates on legislative session and Rep. Ugaste’s work in the General Assembly can be found at repugaste.com.
