Ugaste to Host January 22nd Blood Drive

GENEVA – State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) is hosting a blood drive in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. The event will be held in South Elgin on Saturday, January 22nd from 9:00am—1:00pm at the village of South Elgin Public Works (Training Room), 1000 Bowes Road. Appointments are encouraged and can be made online: https://donate.illinois.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5597691.

Representative Ugaste’s Blood Drive will help local blood banks increase their supply amid the critical blood shortage the state of Illinois is experiencing. According to the Red Cross, over the last few weeks Illinois has reached a ‘critical low’ leading hospitals to cancel surgeries due to the shortage.

“Every blood donation matters and can help save multiple lives,” said Rep. Ugaste. “This drive is an effort to start the new year out on the right foot and do what we can together to mitigate the shortage our state is experiencing.”

With questions, contact Rep. Ugaste’s office at (630) 797-5530.  To help ensure donor and staff safety, Versiti staff will be observing all necessary health and safety precautions.
