Ugaste Calls Again for Ethics Reform Following Latest Indictment of State Legislator

ST. CHARLES – In response to the reports of the indictment of State Senator Emil Jones III (D-Chicago) on federal bribery charges, State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-St. Charles) released the following statement:

“This latest set of charges against Senator Jones is another indicator of the culture of corruption that has dominated Springfield for decades. In the wake of former Speaker Madigan’s indictment, we are witnessing a disappointing trend of public corruption from the Democrats that Illinoisans pay for in lost investment in Illinois and lost trust in Illinois government. These indictments continue to be a disgrace to our General Assembly. We must prioritize restoring public trust in Springfield as we head into veto session this fall and end the culture of corruption in Illinois.”
