State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) will be hosting an event with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) on Thursday, August 1, at the South Elgin Public Works Building. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. The South Elgin Public Works Building is located at 1000 Bowes Road.
This informative presentation will include representatives from IEMA, along with local EMA officials. They will provide participants with overviews of state and regional emergency management policies and procedures. Emergency situations can include natural, manmade or technological disasters, severe weather events, hazards, or acts of terrorism.
“I invite everyone who would like to learn more about the functions of emergency management officials to come to this important event,” Rep. Ugaste stated. “We all should have a plan in case of a major emergency and this presentation will help all participants learn about how they are handled, along with steps they can take to keep themselves safe in a disaster situation.”
