Illinois Democrats have operated under the Madigan playbook for a very long time, deteriorating public trust in elected officials and state government as a whole. The majority party has remained silent on the issue of corruption, even as their former leader stands trial for racketeering and bribery.
We have another opportunity during the upcoming fall veto session to take a real step forward in the fight against corruption. We need sweeping ethics reforms today to give our residents the honest, transparent government they deserve.
