Springfield, IL – State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) issued a statement following yesterday’s politically-motivated resolutions introduced by House Democrats.
“Today, House Democrats chose to waste taxpayer time and resources to pass several politically-motivated resolutions regarding President Trump. Political grandstanding and targeting are not appropriate for the House floor. It is obvious based on the subject matter of the resolutions and then calling for votes from the same few Republican members in certain areas that this was nothing but politics. Illinois House Republicans are focused on lowering taxes, enacting strong anti-corruption ethics reforms, and shrinking the size and influence of government to stop the outmigration of our citizens to other states. This was clearly an abuse of power by the Democrats made possible only by their unconstitutional gerrymandered maps.”
