Rep. Ugaste, Sen. DeWitte Host Prescription Drug Drop Off in Elburn

St. Charles, IL – State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-65th House District), State Senator Don DeWitte (R-33rd Senate District), and the Elburn Police Department are hosting a Prescription Drug Drop Off event Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free outdoor event is being held at the Town and Country Public Library District, 320 E. North St., Elburn. April 25 is also National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Residents can remain in their vehicles while safely dropping off unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs. Please bring medications in a sealed plastic bag if possible.

“There’s still time for you to clean out your medicine cabinets and collect all unused or expired medications and deliver them for safe, environmentally friendly disposal,” stated Sen. DeWitte. “These events help play a critical role in providing responsible ways to dispose of prescription medications.”

“I invite everyone to utilize this opportunity to safely dispose of these substances that can become dangerous when in the wrong hands,” stated Rep. Ugaste. “Thank you to the Elburn Police Department for coordinating this event for the local community.”

Accepted medications that can be disposed of include tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of prescription drugs; patches, vaping devices, and cartridges with lithium batteries removed; prescription ointments, pet medications, and vitamins. Restricted items that will not be accepted include liquids, including intravenous solutions, syringes, needles, and illegal drugs.
