Adults aged 60 and older can enter the Illinois State Fair for free on Monday, August 12, and those who visit the Illinois Building will leave with health and wellness resources, freebies, and prizes. Activities include:
- 10:30 a.m. – Opening remarks by Illinois Department on Again Acting Director Mary Killough and other dignitaries.
- 11 a.m. – Juneteenth King and Queen performance; bingo begins in mezzanine area.
- 12-1:30 p.m. – The Not So Newlywed Game (register by 11:45 a.m. at the Department on Aging’s booth, located inside the Illinois Building). Participants are couples 50 years of age or older; cash prizes will be awarded.
- 2-2:45 p.m. – Medicare and Illinois Jeopardy Contest (register no later than 1:45 p.m. at the Department of Aging booth).
- 3-4 p.m. – AARP Social Security Presentation
