Elgin, IL – State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) will be hosting a free shred event and food drive Saturday, September 14. The event will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the Gail Borden Public Library District – Rakow Branch, located at 2751 W. Bowes Rd., Elgin.
Residents will be able to bring their sensitive documents for safe shredding, and the event will also serve as a food drive for the South Elgin Food Pantry. We are also collecting diaper donations for the Fox Valley United Way. Please bring only unexpired and non-perishable food items. No electronics will be accepted for recycling or disposal. Please note that the event is scheduled to conclude at 11 a.m., or once the food truck is at capacity.
“I hope residents are able to take advantage of this opportunity to safely and securely dispose of their sensitive documents,” stated Rep. Ugaste. “In addition, please consider donating non-perishable food items to help your neighbors in need and stock the shelves of the South Elgin Food Pantry.”
