State Representatives Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) and Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) recorded a podcast discussing the urgent need for ethics reform in Illinois–and how it is intricately tied to all other issues facing our state. Below is an excerpt from Rep. Ugaste:
“We are driving ourselves into the ground with corruption,” said Ugaste. “Refusing to address this corruption is a refusal to address issues in the budget and pension. The people in power want to stay in power to benefit themselves, and that’s a problem. Until we address this, we won’t get anywhere in this state and we will continue to lose businesses and we will continue to lose population. We can’t wait any longer.”
