Tell the Governor to Veto SB 328 & Stop the Lawsuit Before It Starts

In a blatant abuse of power, Senate President Don Harmon and House Speaker Chris Welch pushed through SB 328 with zero transparency and total disregard for the law. They used a bait-and-switch maneuver pushing through an entirely new special interest bill in the final hours of session violating Illinois’ constitutional Three Readings Rule and blocking public scrutiny.

It was a deliberate scheme to sneak a massive gift to trial lawyers across the finish line in the middle of the night while hard-working Illinois families were sleeping.

SB 328 is a disaster for Illinois:

• It invites anyone in America to sue any company doing business in Illinois, even if the case has nothing to do with our state.
• It cements Illinois’ status as a judicial hellhole, making it one of the nation’s top targets for frivolous, out-of-state litigation.
• It hurts our workers, families, and small businesses by driving up costs, slowing down our courts, and killing jobs. 

Republican leaders have already filed a lawsuit to defend our Constitution and protect Illinois families. But Governor Pritzker can stop this now.
